Welcome to the Skehana – Mountbellew/Moylough Hurling fundraising draw! This is your chance to win a stunning new Volkswagen Golf while directly supporting the future of grassroots hurling in our community.

A community fundraiser should support the wider community, so we are delighted to partner with Cancer Care West, with a percentage of all fundraising proceeds going to them.

Fundraising helps them to provide emotional, practical and residential support to people with cancer and their family and friends.

Our Story

Since coming together at the minor level in 2017, Skehana – Mountbellew/Moylough Hurling has experienced steady and exciting growth. We have worked hard to unite and strengthen the game across the communities of Skehana/Menlough and Mountbellew/Moylough.

Today, we are proud of how far we have come:

  • We compete at ‘A’ level in many underage grades from U12 upwards.
  • We field highly competitive adult teams at both Premier Intermediate and Junior levels.
  • We provide a clear, supportive pathway for local players to progress through the ranks and stay involved in the sport they love.

This success reflects the incredible improvement in standards and the unwavering commitment of our players, coaches, and volunteers over the last few years.

Our Vision and Why We Need Your Support

To build on this momentum and ensure our continued development, we are embarking on this major fundraising initiative. Our ultimate goal is to reach senior level in Galway and put our area firmly on the hurling map.

Every ticket you purchase goes directly toward the development of hurling in our catchment area, along with our charity partner. The funds raised will be invested in:

  • Enhancing Facilities and Equipment: Creating the best possible physical environment for our athletes to train, play and grow.
  • Increasing Coaching Resources: Expanding support for both our Juvenile and Adult sections to elevate our standard of play.
  • Developing Future Stars: Giving more of our players the opportunity and foundation to represent themselves at the senior county level, following in the footsteps of our current county player, Oisín Lohan.
